The South Florida Gold bounced back after two defeats to The Jacksonville Giants as they faced the Shizouka Gym Rats. The Gym Rats were led by Tedric Hill who put up over 40 points against The Gold but that was not enough as Chris Watson, Sheddrick "Rascal" Haynes, Charlie "Cobra" Coley, Marquis Mathis, and Mike"Baby MIke" Pugh" would led the way playing aggressive team basketball leading The Gold to a 86-37 halftime lead. Dante Valentine, Desmond "DTRAIN" Brown, Alonzo "STRETCH" Miller, Scott "The Professor" Draugn, Jeff" The Haitian Sniper" Romeus, Sean "Batman" Scott, Jarett Smith, Gertavian Blake and Downtown Freddy Brown came off the bench and led the Gold to a 128-57 lead. Head Coach Ken Mitchell would show leadership by changing players to match up against The Gym Rats leading The Gold to a victory 182-76.
On Sunday The Gold would again host The Gym Rats and after a slow start they would turn it up a notch an lead at half time 75-45. The Gold would make some adjustments and play great defense creating many 3-d opportunities and lead after 3 128-63. The Gold would go on to win 170-86.
Te Gold will tip off against The 13th ranked team in The ABA, The Steel City Yellow Jackets on 12/20 at 7:30 PM at Boynton Beach Community High School. The 12/20 game will be on ESPN 3. It is also The Slam Dunk Cancer Game. If fans wear purple or gold they will be admitted FREE.
